*** Thanks to all who contributed funds to assist in ice storm relief efforts!
Feb. 2007
ABC/NE continues to distribute funds to persons affected by the ice storm. Most immediate needs have been met, but we continue to assist those who have found insurance insufficient. We also continue to work with Interchurch Ministries of Nebraska making sure everyone who needs help has gotten it. On Feb 14, Assoc. Exec. Steve Bils travelled to the affected area to make a follow-up assessment on where there are still needs for relief.
Jan. 2007
Clarence Reiss delivered Camp Moses Merrill and ABMen generators to persons in need in the area of Nebraska with power outages following ice storms.
Gibbon Baptist Church and First Baptist of Holbrook housed persons without heat following ice storms.
ABC/NE office in Omaha is gathering info on persons in need in the parts of the state affected by power outages. Teams are assisting with clean-up particularly in Holdrege and Kearney as well as in other areas.
ABC-USA's National Ministries sent $5000 from One Great Hour of Sharing Funds. This money has been distributed to those in need.
Churches in areas not affected by the storm are sending money and volunteers to assist.
Nov. 2006 Following the fire at FBC, Norfolk, ABC/NE Disaster Coordinator Jason Workman and Pastor Kevin Walden travelled to Norfolk. Persons from other ABC/NE churches visited in the following weeks and provided support and aid.
