Dear Pastor,
I am writing to extend an invitation to you to participate in a meaningful and supportive initiative designed specifically for pastors: the Colossians 3 Community. In today’s demanding ministry climate, it’s essential to find moments of rest and renewal, and we believe this community can serve as that vital space.
Recent studies have shown that pastoral burnout is an increasingly common challenge. Data from the Barna Group highlights the alarming rates of burnout amongst pastors, with 40% at high risk in 2023 – a staggering rise over recent years. Pastoral duties span diverse roles, from delivering sermons to providing support during peaks of joy and sorrow, like weddings and funerals. The additional pressures from the ever-changing societal landscape further contribute to feelings of isolation, strained relationships, and spiritual neglect.
Understanding these challenges, we are launching the Colossians 3 Community. Starting November 12th, and continuing every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 9:30 AM Mountain Time (10:30 AM Central), we invite you to join us on Zoom.
This community will offer you the opportunity to:
– Connect with fellow pastors in a spirit of fellowship.
– Share in prayer, friendship, and mutual growth through spiritual disciplines.
– Engage in candid discussions about the struggles and triumphs of ministry in a supportive environment.
Let us come together to support one another and rediscover the joy and purpose of our calling, inspired by the words of Colossians 3:2 to “set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Though the journey of ministry may often seem solitary, remember, we are all in this together.
