300 Hygiene Kits Created during Biennial Mission Summit
Churches Helping Churches ABC NE created 300 hygiene kits for disaster relief and other emergency relief during Biennial Mission Summit. ABC NE received a grant from the American Baptist Home Mission Society to fund the supplies necessary to build the kits. Each kit includes toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, soap, rags, deodorant, socks, shaving kits, combs, nail clippers, and other personal hygiene items for men and women, all placed in a reusable drawstring backpack.
Volunteers, both young and old, helped fill the kits at our exhibit area. All kits are currently stored at the ABC NE region office but will be divided between the region office, Arthur Baptist Church, and FBC Chadron for quick geographic distribution across the region.
“This is such a wonderful project to share with our American Baptist family at the Mission Summit. I am glad I got to help Nebraska and those impacted by storms.”
FBC Fremont Builds Flood Buckets
The people of First Baptist Church of Fremont, Nebraska, have once again demonstrated their deep commitment to serving others in times of need. Under the leadership and organization of Rev. Richard Crooks, FBC Fremont assembled 30 flood buckets for American Baptist Churches of Nebraska’s disaster relief ministry.
These flood buckets are filled with essential cleaning supplies and tools that will be distributed to individuals and families impacted by future disasters in Nebraska. Whether responding to flooding, tornadoes, or other emergencies, these buckets will offer practical help and hope during moments of crisis.
We extend our sincere thanks to Rev. Crooks for his faithful leadership in this effort. His passion for preparedness and service helped bring together volunteers from the congregation who gave generously of their time and energy to make this project a success.
We also offer deep gratitude to the entire FBC Fremont community for stepping up with compassion and action. Your efforts embody the mission of Churches Helping Churches, and your work will make a real difference when disaster strikes.
Together, we are better prepared to serve our neighbors with love, care, and courage. Thank you, FBC Fremont, for being the hands and feet of Christ.
