As part of our commitment to Christian service, all ABC Nebraska churches are encouraged to help prepare for a natural or man-made disaster. By doing so, each church will be ready to respond immediately when help is needed, reinforcing our collective responsibility in disaster response. Here’s a list to share with your church to help build hygiene kits.
Men’s Hygiene Kit
1 Gallon Ziplock bag
1 small washcloth
1 bar of soap
1 deodorant
1 toothbrush
dental floss
1 sm/med comb
2 lip balm
1-2 disposable razors
1 pocket tissues
1 fingernail clipper
Women’s Hygiene Kit
1 Gallon Ziplock bag
1 small washcloth
1 bar of soap
1 deodorant
1 toothbrush
dental floss
1 sm/med comb
2 lip balm
1-2 disposable razors
1 pocket tissues
1 fingernail clipper
pantiliners
The following items must be added to each bag when the time comes to hand out items. (Do not store with the dry goods due to expiration dates – purchase when the time has come to distribute the kits)
Shampoo
Shaving cream
Toothpaste
Mouthwash
Lip balm
Please use travel-size or small-sized items.
Place each set of items in the gallon Ziplock bag.
Stack gallon Ziplock bags in a shipping worthy box to prepare for shipping.
When your church completes the kits, please reach out to the ABC NE region office (402-556-4730) or email Executive Minister Greg Mamula to arrange for collection and storage in local churches, the region office, and/or shipping to specific locations. Once a reliable destination is identified ABC NE will pay for the shipping (or distribute on site with volunteers when possible) through our Disaster Relief Funds. Rev. Jason Workman and Region Staff are working together in partnership with our ABCUSA ministry networks to ensure hygiene kits are provided to places of great need through trusted ministry partners.
