PHILOSOPHY OF ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN

PURPOSE STATEMENT:  

The purpose for a curriculum for ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN is to provide a valuable tool for local church leaders wanting to gather boys and young men in a male, gender-specific environment.  In the context of that environment, ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN will be able to focus on issues of faith and gender in the effort to grow toward being Christian males in a culture moving into the 21st century.

OBJECTIVES OF ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN CURRICULUM: 

For ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN to gain knowledge in three focus areas:  Personal Faith, Personal Values, & Christian Discipleship.

For ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN to journey together through the variety of learning experiences provided; in a community consisting of boys and young men their own age, leaders, and mentors that is conductive to free expression of ideas and taking new steps of faith.

For ABBOYS & YOUNG MEN to be challenged to express their faith and Christian discipleship through service in a variety of areas:  their local communities, their church, and the world.
